Active Ingredient : Valeric Acid 0.8%
Common Name : Valerian, Indian Valerian
Chemical Constituents and Components : Main chemical components are valeric acid, valerenic acid, valechlorine, valerine, limonene, choline, chatinine, valerianine, actinidine, tannins, resins and alkaloids.
Action :
Valeric acid: 1. It reduces reactive oxygen species production and enhanced the cell viability. 2. It causes activation of K+ ATP channel, thus act as hypotensive. 3. It enhances sedative and sleeping properties. 4. It causes increase in short-term memeory.Curing Diseases : 1. It is used to cure epilepsy, convulsions and nervous disorders.
2. It is useful in jaundice, ulcers, wounds and cardiac debility.
3. It is used in dry cough, asthma, chronic and intermittent fever.
4. It s also used in ophthalmopathy, dysmenorrhoea and skin diseases.Research Information : Valeriana wallichii extract is useful in the treatment of stress related disorders in human.
